DRAINAGE BASIN

Definition

 

Drainage Basin is the area of land that the river and its tributaries drain is known as the catchment area or drainage basin.

The drainage basin begins at the source which is hills or mountain and ends at the mouth which is the sea or lake.

The path taken by the river from its source to the mouth is called the course of the river
